v0.28.0/v0.29.0 Updates, and 2025 State of the Game

Sup all, it's a new month and a new year! v0.28.0 is now up for free on itch, and I've also posted an overall annual State of the Game post there as well, if you're interested in checking it out. Also in case you've missed it, Carnal Coup - Overseer's Edition is on sale for the Steam and itch winter sales for another day or so, don't miss it!

As for v0.29.0, this update focuses on starting the Agent Switch cameo storyline, after they won a poll to appear ages ago. The storyline climax is half-done and will be in the next update, likely to be followed by more Happee Co content. v0.28.1 Update

Hey all, it's breeding time! The pregnancy system is now fully in and operational, with players, the XO, and standard crewmembers all now standing a risk of getting knocked up during procedural 'romance' scenes (Specialists will get their own system down the line). I've also added in a few followup scenes to handle informing the player of if this happens. With that out of the way it's time to get back to the plotline, and one of the top things on my to-do list is the Switch cameo appearance, which won in a poll ages back. v0.28.1 Change Log

Game Functions:

  • Pregnancy mechanics added to the procedural 'romance' encounters. Each time there is a PIV climax involving the player, XO, or standard crewmembers, there is a chance for pregnancy. Specialists cannot impregnate or be impregnated at this time. For pregnancy to occur, the following must be true:
    • A Reproductive Health Officer must be staffed (Tier 3 ship required).
    • Mandatory birth control policies are not in use.
    • Both participants are the same species (future ship upgrades may remove this requirement).
    • Both participants must be fertile.
    • The potential mother must not already be pregnant or within 30 days of having been pregnant.
    • A random check based on the ship's fertility policy must be passed.

Scene Content:

  • End-of-day Reproductive Health Officer scene added to inform the player when they have gotten a crewmember pregnant, requires an RHO to be staffed, will delay until one is staffed if there is none.
  • End-of-day XO scene added to inform the player when they have gotten the XO pregnant, slight variants based on XO relationship. Note: Some options may change the XO relationship, however if chosen this change will be queued until further XO relationship mechanics are added to the game.
  • End-of-day XO scene added to inform the XO when they have gotten the player pregnant, slight variants based on XO relationship. Same notes as the above scene.

v0.27.0/v0.28.0 Updates

Hey all, it's monthly update time! v0.27.0 is now up on the public page, and v0.28.0 has been released to patrons! This update largely focused on more aspects of the game's pregnancy system, and if a player selects the 'Breeder' trait at the start of the game, they'll now start off with a couple of kiddos to get the family started with.

I also spent a fair bit of time on a system for automatically displaying certain scenes at the end of the day, and the next update will add in a few more of these to serve as announcements for when the player's gotten someone on the ship knocked up. The pregnancy system should be pretty much wrapped up with the next update, after which I'll return to storyline writing for a bit as it's been a few months since there's been much in the way of plot scenes. v0.28.0 Change Log

Game Functions:

  • Fertility Healing added to the Reproductive Health Officer's office. Any infertile crewmembers can have their fertility restored for a cost of Medical and R&D upgrade items.
  • Players with the 'Breeder' trait will have two children listed at the Watch Station Childcare Center. If the XO is a Co-Parent, they will be the other parent of the children, otherwise a randomly generated parent is created. Players must still complete the first Admiral debriefing to visit the Childcare Center.
  • Functionality added to support scenes that automatically appear at the end of the day. If the player is in transit or currently viewing an 'important' scene, these scenes will wait until the next day.
  • Crewmembers may now hook up on their own time each day with a chance of causing pregnancy. For this to occur the following conditions must exist:
    • Mandatory crew birth control policy is not being used.
    • A Reproductive Health Officer must be assigned.
    • There must be at least five crewmembers (not counting Specialists or the player).
    • The crewmembers who hook up must be physically capable of getting one another pregnant, and not already be pregnant or within 30 days of having an offspring shipped to Watch Station.

Scene Content:

  • Previous RHO meeting scene has been moved to a new RHO hub scene. This hub scene includes the option for the new fertility treatments.
  • Automated scene added to alert players to when the Admiral's first debriefing is available.
  • End-of-day Reproductive Health Officer scene added to inform the player when they have become pregnant, requires an RHO to be staffed, will delay until one is staffed if there is none. Note: Not accessible until player pregnancy has been fully implemented.

v0.27.1 Supporter Update

v0.27.1 is now up for patrons, and we've got some new art and a lot of setup for the game's pregnancy system! The last Seeder faction CG is now in the game, and while you can't yet conceive children, I've set up a number of functions to support them once they exist. The next update will focus on adding in a few more systems, at which point I'll add in the ability to actually get folks (or yourself) pregnant. v0.27.1 Change Log

Game Functions:

  • New Birth Control options have been added to the Policies menu, under a new Reproductive Health tab. These options are only available if you own a Tier 3 ship and have a RH Officer assigned. Some options will not be available until Tier 4 ships are added to the game.
  • Functionality added for the aging of offspring and the inclusion of important milestones in the daily log: crew impregnations, offspring sent to Watch Station, offspring born at Watch Station.
  • Crew Profiles will now list pregnancy information for crewmembers who are currently pregnant.

Scene Content:

  • New 'Childcare Center' scene added to the Watch Station services list, currently in development. Unlocked following the Admiral's first debriefing. Will provide functionality for viewing children of all crewmembers and renaming of player's children.

Art Content:

  • New ship graphics added for all Tier 3 ships, as seen in the Ship Shop and Ship View.
  • New CG added for Sage Lantana finale scene and Gallery. Automatically unlocked if scene has been previously played.

v0.26.0/v0.27.0 Updates

Evening all, it's monthly update time! v0.26.0 is now up at the public page, and v0.27.0 is now available for patrons! This update finishes up the Tier 3 ship functionality with one more new ship, although I do have some additional art assets waiting to get in. I've also started on the very early stages of the game's pregnancy system, which will also be my main focus for the coming month. This system will require having a Tier 3+ ship unlocked, so get to completing some missions if you're not already there! v0.26.1 Supporter Update

It's mid-month update time, and this update features new ships! The new Tier 3 ships are unlocked once the player has completed two of the enemy faction storylines, and feature a number of upgrades over Tier 2 vessels: more crew, a larger bridge staff, ways to speed up your development of your favorite DTF division crew, and also some setup for new game features which will be coming soon. This next cycle will focus on finishing up the last remaining ship work before we get to that, though. You can check out the Patreon post here for more info, and the patch notes are below:


v0.26.1 Change Log

Game Functions:

  • New Ship Station functionality: Shield Drain, allowing stations to attack and drain energy from enemy shields.
  • New Ship Station functionality: Training stations, which provide XP to the crewmember staffing the station.
  • Ship Stations may now have minimum required ranks. Minimum required rank will be listed in the station description.
  • Tier 3 ships are now unlocked at the Watch Station dockyards for players who have completed two factions and been debriefed by the Admiral. Current available ships: Tactical, Engineering, R&D, Medical. Note: Ships are using Tier 2 artwork as a placeholder.

v0.25.0/v0.26.0 Updates, and a Discount!

Evening all, it's monthly update time, but first off, it's also an anniversary! In celebration of the third anniversary of the store launch of Carnal Coup - Overseer's Edition, I've now permantly discounted the game, and it's also on sale for the next two weeks! You can find it as usual on Steam and itch.io!

As for Carnal Voyages, v0.25.0 is now up for the public, and v0.26.0 is out for patrons. The latest release finishes out the Seeder faction plotlines with some smut, and tosses in a special 'reward' scene from the Admiral when you report your progress. With the Seeders done I'll next be focusing on functionality for a bit, starting with the development of the next tier of ship classes. Game Functions:

  • Functionality added to support scenes unlocked by the number of completed factions.
  • 'New Scene' alert markers added to Galaxy and Figura System maps for when new scenes are available at the Figura System. Does not apply to tutorial scenes.

Scene Content:

  • Third Seeder 'Takeover' scene added to the Abandoned Observatory, unlocked 20 hours following the second. Has two non-exclusive branches. Added to replay mode.
  • Admiral Octo scene added to Watch Station, unlocked after completing two faction systems. Unlocks the Admiral Octo 'Topless' portrait entry in the Gallery.
  • Optional Admiral Octo 'reward' scene added, unlocked immediately following the previous scene. Added to replay mode.

Note: The new ships discussed in the Admiral scene are currently in-development and not yet in the game.
